Hello?!?!?! You are a teen!!! Why would you think, even for a split second, that you are fit to be a parent? Your job at the present time is to educate yourself, live life a little, obtain a job along with a little wisdom - THEN procreate! If you are under the age of 20 (I'd like to think more around 24, but that's just me) and seriously believe you are ready - trust me... you're too dumb to procreate just yet. I regret to inform you.
Truth is, once you get smart enough and you understand the hard truth about being a member of society... you'll get it. You will SEE how difficult it is to raise a child. How difficult it is to get the awesome job. Do you think you'll get that job going against all the other former teens, high school/perhaps post-secondary graduates who WAITED?! Most likely not. Life is worth living before you create one.
Do us all a favour and enjoy your responsibility-free life. Which, if I may, not one adult is not envious of you. Take your best years and keep them for yourself. High school blows. But the few years immediately following, those years where you ripen from a teen to a young adult... THOSE are the years to cherish. Learning how to be independent, who you really are... maybe do a bit of travelling. Please refrain from procreating and spending those years sleep deprived and teaching your children the nothings you have experienced in life. All you will have to share is an awful teenage parent story.
Did I mention how awesome your no-baby body is?! Gawd! Enjoy it... milk it. Show it off. Appreciate the simple things in life... every phase is worth enjoying, including your teen years. Time will make you an adult. You will get there eventually. The only thing you can do, is go back in time.
To sum up, please wait your turn.

Self-Respect
Let's begin by pointing out the obvious. Life sucks. Understood. Can we all agree that it sucks equally for all parties involved? Yes. Therefore, life is fair in that respect. Now. About self-respect. Only you can give yourself that. No peer pressure will ever steer you in the self-respect corner. You must take yourself there. And that is the key to your teenage happiness.
Allow me to elaborate. Making wrong choices will send you in a world of shame, lies and doubt. All these emotions can send you in the abyss of teenage angst and depression. No high or sex drive will ever replace self-respect. Don't think you can get away from yourself, your own memories, your own self-conscious. And those are the very thoughts that will drive you mad. Not what other think. Not what others do. But what you have done to violate yourself, your mind, your body and your heart.
No. You are not prepared to have sex, because you are not ready to be a mother or a father. Abstinence will make you strong, respectful and damn attractive. Who wants to be the subject of a locker room tell-all? No one has ever ended such a conversation with the sentence: "now there's a girl to marry" or "that's husband material". Self-respect is the way there. You'll never need to lie about how many partners you've had. How many STD's you might have/have had. How many pregnancy scares. You will have your turn. Pace yourself. There are plenty of ways to have fun as a teen. Make out. Making out is the highlight of life. Make out as much as you can as a teen. Those are the years to do it. Savor it. Save sex for later. Life will be so boring if you rush it. Trust me.
